 Pastor Jim began his ministry with FPC of Roseville in May of 1999. Prior to coming to FPC he was Senior Pastor of a church in southern California that was one of the fastest growing churches in the Presbytery of San Fernando.
Pastor Jim was born and raised in southern California. He grew up in a non-Christian home and came to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior while in High School. Early on he sensed a call to ministry and directed Youth and College ministries in southern California and New Jersey while in school. Jim received his BA in religious studies from California State University Fullerton, his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Jim has a passion for seeing lives transformed by encountering the reality of the presence of God and through the teachings of the eternal truths of scripture. This passion is expressed in his messages and leadership as Pastor Jim seeks to bring people into a deeper encounter with the Lord Jesus.
Jim has been married to his wife Suzi for 28 years, and they have two children, Lauren age 17 and Trevor age 12. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, fixing up their house, motorcycle riding, woodworking and reading.
